Before planning for your vacation overseas, take a look at some of these amazing festivals happening closer to home this year. 2019 is the year for marvelous cultural festivals and music extravaganzas. Here is a look at some of them.

Rann Utsav, Gujarat

There is something magical about the Rann of Kutch. The desert resembles something that looks straight out of something Disney would produce. It is a fabulous cultural festival of dance and music. The entire dessert is white and glows under the full moon. There are various activities to engage in at the Kutch. These include camel cart rides, meditation, yoga, enjoying the culture of Gujarat, ATV rides, golf carting, paramotoring, etc. The fest goes on until the 20th of February and is a spectacular event. In the winter months the sand has dried up from the monsoon and the beautiful Rann Utsav begins.

Indian Arts Fair, Delhi

The Indian Arts Fair that will take place in the national capital will celebrate its eighth anniversary this year and will have exhibitions from almost eighty different types of galleries. Contemporary and modern arts from South Asia will be featured here. There will be book launches, a speakers forum, and various performances. The dates for the same are from 21st of November to the 24th November.

Sula Festival, Nashik

Taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of  February the Sula festival in Nashik is going to have its twelfth feature and will celebrate a decade of the wine festival. It is an annual global festival that involves drinking, shopping, and dancing. It is a breathtaking camping and drinking festival with great music to accompany it.

Festa de Diu, Daman and Diu

The longest beach festival in Asia takes place in Diu and the whole city celebrates together. The weather is perfect this time of the year and there are several fun activities to do around town. You can go bungee jumping, hop onto a hot air balloon, go zip lining, participate in different kinds and sorts of workshops, attend music carnivals and fashion shows.

Float Festival, Madurai, Tamil Nadu

The town has various renowned and glorious temples that should be visited. The festive temple town with distinguished architecture and the renowned Meenakshi temple holds the Float Festival, which is a twelve-day festival celebrated on the full moon night. There is also a fascinating museum to venture into. It draws the attention of travelers from different parts of the world.

Jaipur Literature Festival

When in Jaipur, you must visit the Hawa Mahal, Jaipur Zoo and the Nahargarh Fort. The International Kite Festival that attracts global attention will also take place. It is a literary festival in India unlike any other.
