Auli is a situated on a hilltop near the small town of Joshimath, also known as the base camp for Badrinath Temple. Auli is famed for skiing too. The place holds international skiing events during winters.
2) Valley of Flowers
To reach the valley of flowers you need to hike for about 13Kms. The trail is only open in the monsoon i.e. from August to mid-October. The hike starts from a place called Govindghat. While on the trek you can witness thousands of varieties of flora which can only be found in this area and only during this specific time of the year. After finishing the hike, you can have some hot tea at the world famous gurudwara- Hemkunth Sahib. The view is just mind boggling at the top.
